The project activity entails installation of a secondary catalyst in the ammonia reactors of one of the two nitric acid production unit of fertilizer plant of Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers (hereafter referred as “RCF”) in India. The project activity would help in catalytic reduction of N2O which is an undesirable by product of nitric acid production process and so emission reductions of it. N2O is potent greenhouse gas with a very high global warming potential of 310.
