Sichuan Furong Coal Mine Methane Utilization Project (hereinafter referred to as the ¡°project¡±) will be implemented by the Sichuan Furong Group¡¯s Limited Industrial Company (hereinafter referred to as ¡°Furong Group¡±). The project is located in Yibin city in Sichuan Province, China. The primary objective of the project is to capture and use coal mine methane (¡°CMM¡±) for power generation. This will displace electricity used from the on-site captive power plant and the Central China Power Grid (¡°CCPG¡±) for on-site use. Currently, for safety reasons, CMM is extracted from four of Furong Group¡¯s mines, including Baijiao, Shanmushu, Xunchang and Gongquan coal mines. There is a small portion of residential and commercial use of the extracted CMM in the baseline scenario. The remaining CMM is released directly into the atmosphere.
