Sichuan Furong Coal Mine Methane Utilization Project
- Industry
Sichuan Furong Coal Mine Methane Utilization Project (hereinafter referred to as the ¡°project¡±) will be implemented by the Sichuan Furong Group¡¯s Limited Industrial Company (hereinafter referred to as ¡°Furong Group¡±). The project is located in Yibin city in Sichuan Province, China. The primary objective of the project is to capture and use coal mine methane (¡°CMM¡±) for power generation. This will displace electricity used from the on-site captive power plant and the Central China Power Grid (¡°CCPG¡±) for on-site use. Currently, for safety reasons, CMM is extracted from four of Furong Group¡¯s mines, including Baijiao, Shanmushu, Xunchang and Gongquan coal mines. There is a small portion of residential and commercial use of the extracted CMM in the baseline scenario. The remaining CMM is released directly into the atmosphere. The implementation of the project will not reduce or affect the baseline level of CMM combusted for thermal demand
