The project activity is a new run-of-river type hydro power plant. Total installed capacity of the project is 210 MW, consisting of three (3) x 70 MW turbines. The project is owned and developed by PT. PLN (Persero), a state-owned electricity company. The project supplies electricity to the connected Sumatra grid. The electricity currently generated by the grid is relatively carbon intensive.
